Plate grown rather than forged: a knight whose shell is his armour, claw raised like a shield boss. The deep carapace grooves take contrast paint almost by themselves.

  • STL file — €20. The pre-supported sculpt, optimised for 32 mm and 75 mm printing. Licensed for your own printing only — redistribution and commercial resale are not permitted.

The story

Crab Knight Miniature - Late Night Miniatures

When the elders whispered that something ancient was stirring in the deep trenches, something that swallowed ships whole and returned only the bones, he was the one who volunteered to descend. He was not afraid. He did not yet know that the sea does not distinguish between the brave and the foolish.

No mortal body survives that pressure, so he remade his own first. Forbidden words spoken alone on the shore at midnight, flesh hardened and sealed and twisted into something that could endure where men could not. His people watched their beloved mage shed his humanity like a skin. He told them it was temporary. He believed it.

He returned not as a vengeful destroyer but as a grim shepherd, carrying what he was certain was the ocean's final answer: soft things perish, armoured things endure. He wept as he worked, not from guilt but from gratitude, while he reshaped his people into chitinous, gill-necked kin. His shores have been stretching ever since, patient and loving, reaching for everyone left to save.
