Portal Mage Miniature - Late Night Miniatures

To the mortal kingdoms this masked mystic is a necessary inconvenience, a living door between worlds that must be maintained, placated and carefully never angered. To the entities dwelling in the swirling void of the Other Side he is a precious, vital lifeline, and they have learned the hard way that precious things have prices.

The Order of the Threshold once numbered in the dozens. He can count his remaining brothers and sisters on one hand, and he has developed the uncomfortable habit of checking that number every few years with the quiet dread of a man watching candles gutter out one by one.

Both sides consistently underestimate him, and he has quietly stopped correcting them. He has survived three arrangements between a desperate king and a hungry thing from the void, and considers the fourth a matter of professional routine. He lets things through when it suits him and holds the threshold shut when it does not. He remains, as ever, negotiating.
