The story

Heavy Vikings Miniatures — Northmen Vikings

Heavy crews go last off the ship and first through the door, and the order matters.

A raid is a timing problem. The light fighters are ashore and moving before anything is organised against them; the heavy line comes in afterwards, slower, into a defence that has just finished forming and is not yet finished thinking. It is not glamorous work and the sagas rarely name them.

The crews' own accounting is different. Heavy men are paid a full share regardless of what they took.

Mail, shield and sea-wear — keep the metal dark and oiled, the shields bright and individually painted, and put salt damage on everything below the waist.
