The story

Goatmen Fantasy Miniatures

The Goatmen came down with the winter procession and a few of them stayed.

They are not devils, whatever the lowland churches decided, and they are not beasts either. They are what is left of a herding people who kept the old midwinter rites after everyone else quietly stopped, and kept them long enough that the rites started keeping them back. They still farm. They still trade, at the edges of markets, early in the morning. They simply also do the thing at midwinter, and no outsider has ever been invited to watch it twice.

A village that shares a valley with them will tell you they are good neighbours. It will not tell you anything else.

Coarse hair, hard horn, homespun wool — a naturalistic scheme sells them far better than a demonic one, and the one ritual colour they wear should be the only saturated thing on the model.
